This is going to be a short but sweet post since it's getting late...Okay, 10:00pm isn't late for all the young readers that may be out there reading this. But in my world with tomorrow being Monday, 10:15 is going to be my bedtime.
Anyway, after almost 2 months of having prospective tenants look at the place or make an appointment and not show up, we have officially found a new family to enjoy the peace and quiet of our neighborhood. And we also got a tenant for the 3rd unit in that house. So it's been a good week and alot of the stress that goes with trying to find decent people to rent from you is over.
After the issues with the last tenant, we were very, very picky. If one of us had a bad feeling about something, we didn't accept them.
This coming weekend should be interesting as we will have both of them moving into their new homes...that both happen to be in the same house. Luckily, the entrances are not on the same side.
Hope everyone has a good week. See y'all next post!
The Colors of Fall
Last weekend, the hubs and I went for a ride on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad. It's something we've been talking about doing for a few years now as neither of us has gone on it. So it was a nice, brisk fall day and we figured the colors would be at or near peak so we went.
The train itself was ok. They have a good system going. They have a cafe car where they sell food, but I was laughing because what they had, reminded me of movie theater food. They also give you head phones and a wireless receiver if you want to listen to the history of the railroad, towpath and the park system.
We boarded at the Rockside Station and road to Akron. We got off there but quickly realized there really wasn't anything to do there in the amount of time we had until the last train. So we got back on and road to Penisula. We got some history for one of the park rangers and he told us where to hike on the towpath to look at some of the history while walking along the tow path.
I was pretty amazed at what was around there and really had no idea that there was so much history in that part of Ohio. And even when I walked or biked on the tow path, the farthest I've gone is Sagamore Hills.
Here are some pictures of our afternoon:

FluMist Vaccine
I am sooo not the world's best when it comes to getting shots. You think I would be having to be pricked every 3 months to check my thyroid levels. I guess I am getting used to that, or maybe it's just that I deal with it because it's something that I have to do to be and stay healthy.
I was kind of excited when I heard they were coming out with a mist vaccine. I thought that it had to be better then getting a shot, right? Wrong. At least in my world.
Work finally got the shipment of the flu vaccine yesterday. It's the regular one, not the H1N1. In the last couple days, I've been on the fence about getting it because I've never had anything sprayed up my nose. The only thing I've had stuck in my nose have been the cannula (sp) (those little tubes they stick in your nose for oxygen) - in the recovery room after all my surgeries, and I had a hard time dealing with those.
Anyway, I finally got the nerve to go down and get it. The nurse knows how I feel about shots so she thought I was happy about getting the mist. So she gives me the spiel and the paperwork to sign. Told me it would be a mist feeling and not a stream feeling and I would feel it hit the back of my throat. I take a deep breath and tell her I'm ready. I'll spare you the details, but it was really not fun at all and I had to go through it twice because it's sprayed in both nostrils.
Seriously, I really think I would enjoy the shot more and hopefully, next years' dose will be the shot and not FluMist.

Vegas in 3 months!!
After both of our illnesses and such this year, we are finally taking a vacation. Okay, I still have to wait about 3 months, but it's so close now and I can't wait.
We have been trying to figure out what show to take in this time. There's so many to choose from.
So as we were looking through the list of Vegas shows, J was also channel surfing and came across the Criss Angel Mindfreak show on A & E. I have been a Criss Angel fan, but stopped watching the show a few years back...for no good reason that I can give you.
J was hooked on that show in less than five minutes!! At the same time that I realized that he was hooked, I noticed on line that he has a shoe in --- you guessed it --- VEGAS!! At the mention of that to him, it was clear that's who we are going to see!!
In case you don't know who he is, here's a link: http://www.crissangel.com
